As an adventurist I always am up for taking the plunge and trying new, fun and innovative things. Someone told me about this cool town that I needed to visit, I was intrigued. She said that so many people had begun flocking there and had nothing but great things to say. When I asked her if she had been there for a visit she replied, ‘not yet because I wanted to get your opinion first.”
That cemented it, I decided to pack my bags and take a road trip to the town of Yoville and travel down the road we call the World Wide Web. It was a quick and easy trip, much quicker than any trip I am accustomed to taking. When I arrived I was greeted with a transformation from my human form to cartoon. I enjoyed creating a virtual me and picking out clothes that suited my personality.
Upon my transformation I was thrown into this rinky-dink apartment with nothing but a few amenities to get me by. I pondered at the boring state of which I was to call home and wondered how to go about making the necessary changes to call it, ‘my own’.
When I decided to step out into the streets of Yoville there were lots of others milling about, I observed and took in their conversations, watching as coins spilled down from their heads and presents flying through the air. “What on WWW is going on?” I asked myself, wondering if anyone might be able to read my thoughts! Then a message appeared asking for me to play a game of rock, paper, scissors. “Wow, now that’s a game I haven’t played since childhood.” I mused. I accepted this request and to my surprise I won and watched as coins spilled down my head!
From then on I ventured through the streets of Yoville meeting and greeting people at every corner. Some where kind, some where standoff-ish. But the best part was the more time I spent in Yoville the more friends I made. I learned how to recruit more workers to become promoted to VP at the factory and earn even more coins to aid in what has since become a spending habit.
That rinky-dink apartment has since transformed into my star-gazing retreat and I have purchased several properties knowing that the market will thrive once again. I have even created my own business, “Cat’s Bed & Breakfast” and have had several guests come to stay.
I look back and think about the journey I took to get to Yoville and wonder how it is I didn’t hear about it sooner. I don’t worry about that now, as I have made so many friends that are like family to me. They all know who they are and I can only hope that they too feel the same way. So if you’re ever passing through on that road, be sure to make the quick right and have a stop in Yoville, you just never know what could be there, waiting for you.
Second Place- Tonille. Prize= White Fur Coat
I am just a puppet in a game called yoville.
No strings, two dimensional.
Moving only when commanded I stroll thru this made up world,
Trying to find my place among the many.
Who should I be?
What should I become?
Am I the giver?
The one who selflessly extends a helping hand.
Or the fashionista?
The rich one perhaps.
No.
I am the perceiver.
Who endlessly studies the debates of the masses and thinks,
What is the big deal, it is only pixels.
Trying to find my place among the many.
What should I become?
The one who selflessly extends a helping hand.
The rich one perhaps.
I am the perceiver.
What is the big deal, it is only pixels.
Third Place- Tie between Jack Annand and Spanky. Prize= Carved Tiki Mask
Jack Annand’s Entry:
There it was, the Yo-cavern of hopelessness. The luminous lights shined out from behind it, although all was pitch black inside the cave. As you step inside the cavern, sharp garden rocks cut into your head. You feel blood slowly oozing out, but nevertheless you carry on. You occasionally hear Halloween bats flapping their menacing wings, but you are not scared. As you continue the urge to escape tightens around you. All light is drained from the air. All you have is your tiki torch light…Water drops from the ceiling above you so you decide to put your black fur coat on. Soon, as you fell you can not go much further, the Yo-cavern hosts make on appearance. The stray bulldogs can pick up your scent. You stay perfectly still, but the Yo-cavern always has it’s way…Whoever goes in never comes out…
Spanky’s Entry:
The cuckoo clock sounded two o’clock on a beautiful sunny afternoon outside of Yoville. A small group of Yovillians gathered around playing games of tic-tac-toe while some shared gifts and other just hung out eating hot dogs and making new friends.
There was talk about a treasure hidden in the top of the tree house but was guarded by a fierce dragon. Everyone wanted to find out what the treasure was but they were afraid of the dragon. The Joker had a good idea. He decided he could trick the dragon by offering him a gift of the magic herb. The herb had magical powers that could turn the scariest dragon into the most kind and gentle dragon. The Knight wanted to help out in case the plan did not work out he could fight the dragon with his magical sword.
The roars of the dragon could be heard all over Yoville. This was a warning to all that the dragon was protecting his treasure. He would not give in without a fight, but the Joker and the Knight were determined to win the battle. They waited for nighttime to go because the dragon would be sleeping and they could leave some of the magical herb by the door. The Joker went first slipped past the dragon and left the herb as planned at the door and entered into the kitchen. The Knight decided to remain outside and keep watch in case the dragon awoke. Slowly, the Joker went from kitchen to living room without making a sound, but when he got to the library he heard a loud sound of an elephant and right afterward a duck squeaking. He started to get very nervous because all this noise can waken the dragon. Hurriedly he made his way to the treetop and as soon as he opened the bedroom door the whole sky lit up.
The dragon dreamed about a field of green meodow covered with pretty colored flowers all around him but the intense flowery scent caused him to sneeze and when he sneezed a flame of red, yellow and orange flew from his nostrils lighting the sky all around him.
There it was. A beautiful treasure box filled with gold and jewels. The Joker was in heaven. He could not believe his eyes at all of the brilliant jewels and gold in the treasure box. He opened up the box and filled his pockets with as much of it as he could and made his way back down the tree house. As soon as he opened the door, the dragon woke up. The Knight saw the dragon stand up and tried to attach him with his magical sword but the flame of the dragon was much too powerful even for the sword that it bent it right in half. The poor Joker was so frightened that he ran back the treetop to return the jewels. When he returned the jewels to their rightful place, the dragon was gone.
The Knight waited for Joker to come back down and when he did they received a gift from the dragon with a nice note thanking them for not stealing from him.

First Place- Sushi. Prize=Sled
So there was this girl right? And she met this dude….oh wait…scratch that…..
Once upon a time, there was a happy little town where it was always sunny and people were always friendly. A girl named ~Sushi~ accidently happened upon this small town, (population 8 million and growing), with a few errant clicks of her heels. At first ~Sushi~ thought this little town didn’t really have alot to offer in the way of entertainment, but after a few days of returning to visit she realized there were alot of strange but very interesting folks in this little town called Yoville. She also realized there was quite a bit to do when she started to interact with the Yovillians.
After a week or two of visiting Yoville, ~Sushi~ was beginning to build a large list of Yovillian friends and her apartment was slowing becoming a nice place to relax and get to know her neighbors better. ~Sushi~ started to feel at home in the little town and even began to enjoy her frequent trips to the Widget Factory to pull shifts with the rest of the community.
One evening while ~Sushi~ was out exploring the Yoville beach, she heard a voice coming from the bushes. It kinda freaked her out a bit because everyone knows that you should stay away from people that hide in bushes. Something about this voice intrigued her though and against her better judgement she decided to find out who the voice belonged to. So she tentatively called out “hello” to the person in the bushes. “Hello” replied the voice. ~Sushi~ is very curious by nature, so she asked the person in the bushes to come out and chat. “No” replied the voice. “Why not?” asked ~Sushi~. “Shy guy” was the reply.
The response was unexpected. ~Sushi~ didn’t really know what to say to that. The curiousity was really starting to get to her so she said to the voice in the bushes, “why don’t you come to my house and you can tell me what there is to be so shy about?” The reply was the same as before, “no, shy guy.”
~Sushi~ was disappointed and just about to give up, when suddenly the person in the bushes suddenly ran out towards the water and stopped just long enough for her to catch his name. Then he disappeared.
She thought to herself, “Well that sucks, I guess I will head back to Alton Towers and see who is milling about in the courtyard.”
As soon as ~Sushi~ arrived back at the apartment building she noticed the”shy guy” standing directly in front of the building. She was slightly surprised to see him again and quickly requested to be his buddy. He happily accepted and they decided to go to her apartment to chat a little. Everything seemed to flow so perfectly between them. It was almost like they had known each other all their lives, but each never knew the other exsisted. As the hours slipped by into days and the days into weeks, the two became very close. They would spend hours together in Yoville, chatting, shopping and interacting with their other friends. Months later ~Sushi~ looks back at that evening on the beach and wonders about the fate involved in this chance meeting and thanks God that it worked out the way it did because that “shy guy” from the bushes is now her closest and most dear best friend and he is now the holder of her heart. Yoville gave ~Sushi~ a reason to wake up every morning and greet the world with a smile on her face.

Second Place- Mr. Snowman. Prize= Velvet Toilet
Once upon a time there was a new Yovillian named Mr. Snowman. He started off with nothing And built his way up to what he thought was the top of the YoWorld. He made alot of friends very quickly, due to his awesome character and generosity. He worked very hard everyday, selling and buying items to make some kind of extra money on the side. He met a real cool girl in YoVille as well, and things were really going his way. Then one day Mr. Snowman was minding his own noobie business, when he was approached by a young lady Yovillian.
She seemed very harmless with, not very good typing skills, so he thought nothing of her being any kind of threat. She began telling him that she had alot of old rares and things in her apartment that you just simply could not get anymore, without spending more then what most Yovillians make in a month going to work at the factory. This impressed Mr. Snowman a great deal, and he proceeded to ask the girl how she aquired such a massive collection of old rares. She then stated, in a harmless and very gramatically errored message, saying that her father worked as a computer software graphics designer. Omg thought Mr. Snowman, being a noob, what a lucky girl to have such a kool dad that can actually create these items for her without any problems what so ever.
The young lady then proceeded to tell him that her dad usually helped out all of her kool friends and they were all so happy afterwards. Being a noobie and not knowing that this young lady had any bad intentions what so ever, he then asked if her father could also add these items on for him on his account. She said yes and proceeded to put her father on, which i might add, typed like he sits in front of a computer quite a bit. Her father described to Mr. Snowman how the procedure works in detail. Being new and seeing all the items that this young lady had, Mr. Snowman had no problem giving this supposed computer savy genius
the information to access his account, thinking very happy thoughts about how he would show off all his old rare items to his friends for super bragging rights. She then got back on the computer ,and said that her father was jumping on the laptop to upload the correct codes into his account. Mr Snowman waited patiently while the young lady kept him occupied. After a while she did mention the fact that her father had put everthing into Mr. Snowmans inventory. All he needed to do was refresh his Yoville application, and all these new rares that he wanted so bad would be in his newly updated inventory. He proceeded to say his goodbyes to the young lady thanking her father for all the work he had done updating his account.
Mr. Snowman refreshed his YoVille page and room loaded as usual, except there were no items in the room at all?? Mr. Snowmans heart immediately dropped. He then checked in his inventory only to find that all items were removed and the inventory was blank=( He then went straight to his buddy list only to find out that the girl who he thought was helping him so much, had deleted him off her list=(
This is a very true story that happened to me and if your not smart this can happen to any noobie. I must admit I am embarrased to post this, but hopefully everyone realizes that looks can be decieving when your a noobie in YoVille. Let others know what mistakes you have learned from and never give out your password!!! I am a smarter man today from this experience that seemed so flawless. I am way ahead of where i was at before i was scammed, and Alot wiser on every aspect of the game..Dont be fooled like i did. Keep your eyes open at all times, because there are some people who have these professional scams noted down to a tee. Good Luck everyone!! Thanx for reading

Third Place- Panster. Prize- Lava Lamp
There once was a village name “Yo”
Where I would occasionally go
But now I’m an addict
With things for my attic
And I don’t even *have* one, you know!
I spend hours searching for maxes
While my fervor never relaxes
I keep looking for bargains
and learning the jargons
When I should be preparing my taxes!
I simply can not miss a sale
But you can’t pay with “checks in the mail”
So I wait eagerly over chez Widget
Energy lost while I fidget
But I surely hate paying retail!
The auctions are fun with emcees
Although I’m not fond of bullies
The hackers who spam
While I’m bidding, I am
And then we all suddenly freeze!
While my fervor never relaxes
I keep looking for bargains
and learning the jargons
When I should be preparing my taxes!
But you can’t pay with “checks in the mail”
So I wait eagerly over chez Widget
Energy lost while I fidget
But I surely hate paying retail!
Although I’m not fond of bullies
The hackers who spam
While I’m bidding, I am

And then we all suddenly freeze!
